I checked my other cams and saw what seemed to be a bird being captured by a hawk a short distance from the chicken run.

I tried that already but they kept popping in them.
Yeah haha. Iām just glad theyāre fenced in and thereās bird netting over the entire run. Iāll be making some changes after I get back.

Wouldnāt infrared (IR) LED cause harm to the chickens? If you Google, constantly IR LED could damage human eyes. Same thing could apply to other animals.
Supposedly, chickens can see IR. The lux intensity from a Wyze cam would be equivalent to light from a full moon.

I hope that people would stop doing it to the animals. I have seen many live stream channels with IR on their animals.

I donāt believe it ābothersā chickens nor does it cause damage. It may disrupt sleep cycle though. Most use IR as a predator deterrent as predatorsā eyes are more sensitive to IR and thus canāt stealthily prey. Large-scale chicken production facilities value periods of complete darkness, including IR. But there is no way for predators to enter those facilities during sleep cycle. Hobbyists and farms who use IR typically reflect the IR off a wall. I use IR to keep the foxes at bay.

I donāt plan on not using the cams in the coops. But I may just not use the IR lights if there is jsut enough light coming in from the backyard pole light. My chickens havenāt seemed to have problems when I had them.
