Well, here we go again.
Starting on the MCSE 2003 track now.
Below you can read my adventure in getting my MCSE on Windows NT 4.0
That took me right at a year to get.
Started studying in July of 1998, took my first test in October 1998, and my last in October of 1999.

Anyways, started studying for the MCSE Server 2003 tests in October of 2003.
Took my first test in January 2004.
Failed miserably.
Went back through the book, re-took all the practice tests, re-did all the labs in the book, read everything I could. Passed 70-290 on March 4, 2004.

3-4-2004 - Passed 70-290 - Managing and Maintaining a Windows Server 2003 Environment.

Studying for the next test. This one concentrates on DNS, DHCP, WINS, IP Subnetting, and other things. Looks to be tough.
Luckily I have a small 5 PC network in my lab at home I can do some good labwork in.
Got my 2003 Server working good, DHCP and DNS works great. Can't do some of the larger Enterprise level stuff like different zones and such, but I get the idea easily enough.
Passed this test on the first try. It was fairly straight-forward.
6-19-2004 - Passed 70-291 - Implementing Managing and Maintaining a Windows Server 2003 Network Infrastructure.
70-291 Scoresheet

Now working on 70-270 - Windows XP workstation test.
When I pass this test, it will give my my MCSA 2003.
Nice little reward halfway through the course of exams.
I hope to have this one knocked out in the next 2 weeks.
8-15-2004 - Passed 70-270 Installing, Configuring, and Administering Microsoft Windows® XP Professional.
I now have my MCSA 2003

Here are updates of my progress towards completing my MCSE Certification for NT 4.0.
This was written from October 1998 through October 1999.

11-1-98 As of October 29th, I have passed the first of 6 tests for my MCSE certification from Microsoft.

I passed the Networking Essentials test, and my next attempt will be for Windows NT 4.0 Workstation and Windows NT 4.0 Server.

1-30-99 As of January 30, I have passed my Windows NT 4.0 Workstation test. I am now a Microsoft Certified Professional. I should be receiving my welcome kit from Microsoft soon. The kit contains stuff like official logos that I can put on business cards, my resume, and my website.

3-4-99 I have passed my third test, NT4.0 Server. 3 more to go.

4-18-99 I passed my fourth test, NT 4.0 Server in the Enterprise on the 15th. 2 more to go for my MCSE.

6-4-99 I passed TCP/IP. Going for Exchange 5.5 Server next. After that, I plan to take some time off from the hard-core studying I have been doing, and start playing with Redhat's version of Linux. I know a fair amount about that already. I hope to have my MCSE before the end of August. I am not going to rush this one.

9-13-99 I am signed up to take my Exchange Server 5.5 test on October 3rd at 4:00 p.m. That will be the last one for my MCSE, then I am going to start looking more into Linux for awhile. I will probably go for my MCSE +I after graduation in March.

10-04-99 I have passed my Exchange test and am now an official MCSE. Can't decide now whether to study for my CCNA, the MCSE+I, or take some time off and play with Linux more. I may just take time off until I graduate before starting something big.
