7 Top Tips to Finish GTA San Andreas Vigilante
This side mission is actually easier than you thought
In GTA San Andreas, one of my favorite side missions is the Vigilante mission. This is a mission where we become a wannabe police who kills all bad guys around a city.
This mission is lucrative and challenging. You can get a lot of money and strengthen your armor. Unfortunately, the suspects become much tougher when you reach high levels.
Many players said that this mission is absolutely difficult. But I honestly disagree with that because based on my experience, this mission can become much easier than you thought.
Here are my 7 top tips that I usually do during the Vigilante mission.
1. Use a police motorcycle or a tank.
When deciding your vehicle, I highly recommend you choose either a police motorcycle or a tank. Why? Because both vehicles are easy to use and have good advantages which can suit your playstyle.
The Police Motorcycle, HPV-1000, is fast and flexible. You can shoot SMG while riding on it. The body shape is small so it’s perfect for taking road shortcuts. Also, it has good acceleration which can save a lot of time.
But the motorcycle isn’t strong enough and only has a small windshield to cover you, so your body will easily get shot by enemies in high level. Also, high level suspects use a shotgun and AK-47 which can blast your motorcycle in a sec, so you have to be extremely careful.
The army tank, Rhino, is very powerful. You are unstoppable for the suspect because the tank can’t be destroyed by any guns, except fire. You can shoot cannon and explode multiple vehicles.
But Rhino doesn’t have good speed to catch up with the suspect. Also, getting Rhino is pretty difficult because you have to get six wanted levels to attract the tank or ‘YOLO’ yourself into Area 69.
Personally, I love to use HPV-1000 because it’s easy to find and I prefer to use many road shortcuts to catch up to the suspects. Also, I can waste my entire SMG clips to destroy the suspects’ vehicle.
So, this is your choice. If you like to play fast, agile, and efficiently, go for the motorcycle. But, if you like to destroy anything for satisfaction or are afraid to die by the suspects group, go for the tank.
2. Change Appearance to delete your wanted level
Wanted bribe star might help you during the Vigilante mission. It can reduce one wanted level star. But it can be a problem if you don’t know all of the bribe star spots. Also, it’s not always efficient since you can only use it for once.
Rather than searching for it, why don’t we use familiar places where it can delete all of our wanted levels easier? Those places are clothing shops, barber shops, and safehouses.
Even though these place icons are not visible during the Vigilante, it’s still accessible. You just need to memorize those places.
If you want to completely reduce your wanted level during the Vigilante, simply change your appearance, whether your hair or clothes. You have one minute to do it before you must enter your vehicle again.
After that, your wanted level star will start blinking. Just wait for a while and don’t make silly criminal actions! Boom! All of your wanted levels have completely vanished.
3. Put your police vehicles inside a safehouse garage to fix it instantly
You might be confused on how to fix your police vehicle during the Vigilante. Since you can’t use Pay N’ Spray to fix it, therefore the common alternative is to steal another police vehicle.
But sometimes, this action gives you another wanted level and another annoying police to deal with. Also, the police vehicle doesn’t always come right in front of you.
To solve this, just drive your police vehicle inside your safehouse garage. Close the garage door and open it again. Now, your police vehicle is fully repaired! You can also do this interesting glitch to any vehicle.
4. Shoot the suspects’ car gas tank
This tip is slightly difficult because you have to familiarize yourself with the type of car that the suspect uses. Usually, the gas tank is placed either right or left near the back tires depending on the car.
If you are familiar with the suspect car, try to aim at the gas tank only. Their car will instantly explode, and the suspect will be burned inside their car.
5. Use long-range guns to shoot the suspect car from far distance or aim for headshot
Earlier I have mentioned that you have to be careful with high level suspects because of their weaponry. Therefore, try to equip yourself with a long-range gun, such as an M4 or Ak-47.
Personally, I use the M4 since it has a longer range than AK-47, good fire rate, and stable recoil while crouching. Although, the downside of it is the price which is more expensive than the classic Kalashnikov.
Alternatively, you can use Minigun, RPG, or Bazooka for easy explosion. But since those guns are difficult to find, therefore you can just use the Assault or Rifle guns which can be bought easily at Ammu-Nation.
Since you have a long-range gun, you can simply shoot the suspect car from a far distance to explode it. But, if you have a good aim and know the passenger seat position, you can shoot the suspect head without destroying their car. It saves your ammo a lot!
6. Go to fast-food or Ammu-Nation to restore your health and armor
Pretty straight forward tip. Never forget to visit a fast-food restaurant or the Ammu-Nation to restore your health and armor.
Since the place icons are not visible during the Vigilante but still accessible, try to memorize these two places' locations for each city. Believe me, it greatly increases your survival rate when fighting against high level suspects.
7. Predict the suspect vehicle route
During the Vigilante, try to predict the suspect vehicle route. Usually, they like to drive around specific streets. It is much easier to predict them if the location is in a countryside or a small town because they usually just drive around without trying to scatter themselves.
By predicting their route, you can set a good position to ambush. Don’t just approach them behind. Instead, try to take a position where they would be arriving so you can increase your chance to get a clear shot to their head or destroy their vehicle from an unpredictable spot.
Doing this tip will helps you when survive against high level suspect and make the Vigilante mission much enjoyable.
