JDM 1997 Honda Civic SiR 5-Speed

This 1997 Honda Civic SiR is a right-hand-drive example that was imported from Japan by the seller in March 2023. Finished in red over black cloth upholstery with patterned inserts, it is powered by a 1.6-liter inline-four mated to a five-speed manual transmission. Equipment includes white-finished 15″ alloy wheels, four-wheel disc brakes, a hatch spoiler, a rear wing, a rear window wiper, power windows and locks, automatic climate control, and an aftermarket Pioneer CD stereo. Work under current ownership is said to have included replacing the water pump, thermostat, valve-cover gasket, spark plugs, ignition wires, and timing and engine-accessory belts as well as adjusting the valves, changing the oil, and flushing the coolant. This EK4 SiR shows 161k kilometers (~100k miles) and is now offered with manufacturer’s literature, import documents, and a clean Texas title in the seller’s name.

The car is finished in red with DOHC VTEC side graphics. Exterior details include front-fender marker lights with amber lenses as well as body-color side mirrors, side-window visors, black body-side moldings, a rear window wiper, a rear mid-mounted wing, and a hatch spoiler. Photos showing scrapes on the front bumper cover, scratches on the right-front fender, and a dent in the left door are provided in the gallery below.

Six-spoke 15″ alloy wheels are finished in white and wear 195/55 Dunlop Lemans LM704 tires. Braking is provided by four-wheel discs, and the seller states that the front pads and rotors were replaced under current ownership along with the front sway-bar bushings. Blemishes on the wheels are depicted in the gallery.

The bolstered front seats and the split-folding rear bench are upholstered in black cloth with patterned inserts that extend to the door panels. Additional appointments include automatic climate control with a digital display in addition to a center armrest, removable rear headrests, a cargo cover, an aftermarket Pioneer Carrozzeria CD stereo, and power windows with one-touch operation for the driver.

The leather-wrapped steering wheel frames a 190-km/h speedometer, a tachometer with an 8,250-rpm redline, and gauges for fuel level and coolant temperature. The six-digit odometer shows 161k kilometers (~100k miles), approximately 10 of which were added by the seller.

The DOHC 1.6-liter B16A inline-four is equipped with VTEC variable valve timing, and factory-rated output was 168 horsepower and 116 lb-ft of torque. Reported work under current ownership included adjusting the valves, changing the oil, and flushing the coolant along with refinishing the valve cover and replacing the timing and engine-accessory belts, belt tensioners, air-conditioner belt-tensioner pulley, water pump, thermostat, valve-cover gasket, spark plugs, and ignition wires.

Power is delivered to the front wheels via a five-speed manual transaxle.
