JDM 1997 Honda Civic SiR 5-Speed

This 1997 Honda Civic SiR is a right-hand-drive hatchback that was acquired by the selling dealer in Japan and was subsequently imported to the US in February 2023. Finished in blue over black cloth upholstery with patterned inserts, the car is powered by a 1.6-liter B16A inline-four paired with a five-speed manual transaxle. Equipment includes a Mugen sports suspension and brake pads as well as a hatch spoiler, a rear wing, a rear window wiper, 16″ wheels, four-wheel disc brakes, power windows and locks, automatic climate control with a digital display, and an aftermarket Pioneer Carrozzeria stereo. This EK4 SiR shows 118k kilometers (~73k miles) and is now offered in California with manufacturer’s literature, Japanese-language service records, and a clean Montana title in the name of the seller’s LLC.

The car is finished in Supersonic Blue Pearl with DOHC VTEC side graphics. Features include a rear mid-mounted wing and a hatch spoiler along with a rear window wiper, side window visors, and front-fender marker lights with amber lenses. The selling dealer states that the car was fitted with a front lip spoiler sourced from an EK9 Civic Type R in addition to an aftermarket alarm system and notes that the bodyside moldings were painted to match the exterior under previous ownership. Five-spoke 16″ wheels are mounted with 205/45 Yokohama Advan Fleva tires. The car is equipped with a Mugen sports suspension kit, and stopping power is provided by four-wheel disc brakes with Mugen pads. The selling dealer states that the rear dampers are weak.

The bolstered front seats and the rear bench seat are upholstered in black cloth with patterned inserts, and matching patterned cloth accents the door panels. Appointments include a center armrest, removable rear headrests, automatic climate control with a digital display, and an aftermarket Pioneer Carrozzeria stereo as well as power windows with a one-touch-down function for the driver.

The leather-wrapped steering wheel frames a 190-km/h speedometer, a tachometer with an 8,250-rpm redline, and gauges for fuel level and coolant temperature. The six-digit odometer shows 118k kilometers (~73k miles).

The DOHC 1.6-liter B16A inline-four is equipped with VTEC variable valve timing. Factory-rated output was 168 horsepower and 116 lb-ft of torque.
