This Honda CRX got away, but there are more like it here.

This 1989 Honda CRX SiR is a Japanese-market example that was purchased and imported to the US by the seller approximately six months ago. Power comes from a 1.6-liter B16A1 VTEC inline-four mated to a 5-speed manual transaxle with a limited-slip differential. Also factory-equipped were 4-wheel disc brakes, front and rear sway bars, bolstered front seats, and fold-down rear seats. Now showing 130k kilometers (~81k miles), this EF8 SiR is being offered in Yonkers, New York with Japanese maintenance records and a clean South Dakota title in the seller’s name.

SiR exterior styling cues included a revised hood, different head and taillights, restyled bumpers, a fixed rear hatch spoiler, and twin polished exhaust tips as shown above. The seller reports that a few dings are present and has provided paint-depth meter readings in the gallery below.

Four-wheel disc brakes, sway bars, and 14″ wheels were also standard on the SiR. A set of 185/60 Yokohama Ecos tires are currently mounted. Each corner is pictured individually in the gallery. An exterior walk-around video can be seen here.

Inside, the SiR received bolstered front seats with leather outers and fold-down rear seats. A tear in the upper rear seat upholstery is visible when folded down, as demonstrated in the gallery.

Factory equipment includes manual steering, manual windows, and air conditioning. An Alpine stereo head unit is fitted. Instrumentation consists of a 9k-rpm tachometer and a 180-km/h speedometer. The odometer indicates 130k kilometers (~81k miles), a handful of which have been driven by the seller.

Under the hood is a 1.6-liter B16A1 VTEC inline-four with an 8,300 rpm redline. Output was 160 horsepower when new, which is sent through a 5-speed gearbox and factory limited-slip differential. Chipping on the valve cover and surface rust near the hood hinges is mentioned by the seller. A video of the engine idling while warm can be seen above.
